MARMOCEM
Spreadable sealing mortar with osmotic action
MARMOCEM is a spreadable sealing mortar with osmotic action. It reacts with the components of the cement and forms stable and insoluble salts which clog the pores and capillaries of the concrete by osmosis. It is suitable for the external and internal sealing of foundations, basements, conventional or inverted roofs, swimming pools, tanks and generally in any construction where sealing of the substrate is required. It offers complete sealing and protection from moisture, excellent adhesion to concrete, high resistance to negative pressures, bending and compression, as well as temperature changes, while providing complete breathability to the structural elements. Homogeneous, ready-to-mix, industrial product of consistently high quality. It ensures good workability, increased application speed, it is economical and provides excellent results. Suitable for drinking water tanks according to the requirements of W-347 and W 270 (EBETAM / certificate no. 3743) regulations.
• Mixture of high specifications grey cement, aggregates of selected granulometry, enriched with special improving additives. • Complies with the specifications: EN 1504-2:2008, concrete surface protection products/systems. Granule size <0.7 mm • Suitable for drinking water tanks according to the requirements of W-347 and W 270 (EBETAM / certificate no. 3743) regulations.
• The substrate must be clean and firm and must be wetted to saturation before application. • Wood and metal tips should be cut to a depth of approximately 3 cm and then covered with REFIXCEM fiber-reinforced, repairing mortar. REFIXCEM is also used for the healing of concrete nests. • At the points where the floor joins the wall, it is recommended to form a curvilinear tough approximately 10 cm wide with REFIXCEM. • Any cracks in the substrate are filled with REFIXCEM. Then, after REFIXCEM has hardened, a coat of MARMOCEM is applied locally and while it is still damp, a suitably cut piece of reinforcement (fiberglass mesh/polyester geotextile) is embedded along the crack. Finally, a second coat of MARMOCEM is applied to completely cover the reinforcement. • In areas of severe cracking and connections or joints, in addition to the local use of the reinforcement mentioned, it is recommended to use it universally over the entire surface. The reinforcement is placed immediately after the application of the first coat of MARMOCEM, while it is still damp. The coating thickness of the reinforcement strips should be approximately 10 cm. The second coat that will follow should completely cover the reinforcement (a third coat may be required). • The contents of a bag are gradually added to clean water using an electric mixer at low speed or a traditional mixer until a homogeneous mixture (paste) suitable for spreading is obtained. • MARMOCEM is applied in two coats crosswise, using a brush or a small brush, with the second coat applied when the first is still damp. If the first coat has already hardened, it sufficient wetting must precede. • The thickness of each coat should not exceed 1 mm, in order to avoid for possible cracking. • The freshly coated surface should be protected from rain, direct sunlight, dust, etc. • The application temperature should be between +5 oC and +35 oC.
• In bags of 25 kg, on pallets. • In a dry place where frost does not form, for 12 months from the date of production, in unopened bags.
Approximately 1.5 kg/m2/coat 1 mm thick, depending on the substrate.
