FL100 ST WOOL
Fiber reinforced adhesive for rockwool thermal insulation boards
The FL100 ST WOOL adhesive is used for bonding rockwool or other thermal insulation boards to wall substrates as well as to brick walls, cellular concrete, exposed concrete, old plastered wall surfaces, etc. It is also used for the placement of the fiberglass mesh sheet on the outside of the insulation board before applying the top coat plasters. It has a very compact and creamy texture, which makes it unique in terms of workability and ease of application. It ensures high bonding strength between the insulation boards and the wall substrate, as well as moisture resistance. It achieves resistance to compression and bending, as well as resistance to temperature changes and environmental changes. It complies with: EAD 040083-00-0404, ETA 20/0778 – 20/0699 – 19/0472, in the context of MARMODOM’s BIOPANOPLY (EPS, XPS, WOOL) external thermal insulation systems, for the above uses. Homogeneous, ready-to-mix, industrial product of consistently high quality. It ensures good workability, increased application speed, it is economical and provides excellent results.
• Mixture of high specifications white cement, crushed marble of strictly selected granulometry and quality, polypropylene fibers, polymers and other special improving additives. • It complies with: EN 12004, EN 998-1 / EAD 040083-00-0404, ETA 20/0778 – 20/0699 – 19/0472. C2E, W2, granule size < 0.7 mm.
• The substrate must be clean, firm and free of any residues (loose particles of plaster or mortar, dust, grease, etc.) • The contents of the bag are gradually added to clean water (approximately 6.0 l/bag) under continuous stirring using an electric mixer at low speed until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The mixture is allowed to cure for 5 minutes and then stirred again before the application. Bonding of rockwool or other insulating boards to the masonry • The adhesive is applied to the surface of the insulating board either by covering the entire surface of the board with a serrated putty knife (8-10 mm), or partially covering at least 40% of the surface of the board (peripherally adding 3-4 drops in the center) with a mixture thickness of approximately 2 cm. • After a period of 2-3 days (at low temperatures a longer period is required) from the bonding of the insulating boards, they should be fixed with the special anchoring connectors. Fitting the fiberglass mesh • Next, a coat of adhesive approximately 3 mm thick is applied to the outer side of the insulation board and while the adhesive is still damp, the fiberglass mesh sheet is placed on the surface and encased using a smooth putty knife, so that it is eventually completely surrounded by the adhesive. • With the application of the desired top coat plasters, the thermal insulation system is completed. • When applying the insulation boards to the wall, the temperature should not be lower than +5 °C or higher than +35 °C. • During the application of the adhesive, and for a few hours afterwards, extreme climatic conditions (such as strong wind, rain, dust, direct sunlight, etc.) should be avoided. • All the above mentioned thermal insulation works should start after the completion of the internal plastering, the application of floor renders, etc. In particular, a waiting period of at least 3-5 weeks is required after the completion of these works. Ready-mixed cementitious adhesives should not be applied directly to gypsum walls or gypsum mortars, except under the responsibility of the user and after application of an acrylic primer. The overdosage of water reduces the expected quality of the products. For even better quality results, see the relevant MARMO PLUS product. Ready-to-mix cementitious adhesives contain cement which is classified as an irritant. Consult the safety instructions and precautions listed in the Material Safety Data Sheet of the product.
• In bags of 25 kg, on pallets. • In a dry place where frost does not form, for 12 months from the date of production, in unopened bags.
Bonding of insulating boards: 4-5 kg/m2 (1 cm thick/40% of the surface), depending on the type and quality of the masonry. Reinforcement of the fiberglass mesh sheet: 4-5 kg/m2 (3 mm thickness/100% of the surface).
